Badachro Inn – a place to relax over a drink

Badachro Inn is on the south side of Loch Gairloch, in the shelter of Badachro Bay, one of the finest anchorages in the West of Scotland.

A stone’s throw from the jetty, Badachro Inn looks across the bay to Isle Horrisdale. A perfect place. Best of all, in the Inn, you can find an atmosphere to match: good company, the best craic, fine wines, beeers and spirits (an excellent selection of malts) and a varied and exciting menu.

In addition, we welcome everyone: yachts-people, walkers, nature lovers… and in Badachro Inn we can put you in touch with places to stay and things to do while you’re here. We have free WiFi so you can catch up with email and social media or just check the weather forecast. Whether you’re here for a long or short stay, whether you’re a family on holiday, lovers of the wild, munro-baggers, seafarers, Badachro Inn is the place to stop for a while.

The Bar

The bar in Badachro Inn looks pretty traditional but there’s a later addition – a  conservatory with tables for dining and a great view out to the bay beyond. Inside the bar area besides the long wooden bar itself, there’s seating and tables, plenty room for conversation and eating when the main dining area is busy.

But the older features which make the special atmosphere. They’re real, not designer, heritage. The wooden bar has the patina of many pints and nips sliding across to thirsty customers. The various bar mirrors, some cracked with age, might even flicker with the ghosts of conversations long past.

On a summer evening, when the bar fills, talk is lively. People shake off the day’s efforts: walking the hills, fishing the loch, crossing the cliffs to hidden beaches. Tourists, locals, travellers of all kinds fetch up here for a respite after the day is over.

We’re cosmopolitan too. You never know who might be contemplating a pint at your elbow; while you could quietly enjoy your quiet drink, you could end up in conversation about fish, politics or the meaning of life.
