We have arguably one of the finest collections of malt whiskies in the area. Above the bar there are more than fifty different malts ranging from popular choices like Glenmorangie, Glenfiddich and the Macallan to more obscure and tantalising distillations, such as Talisker, Bruaichladdich or Balvenie.
Highland, Lowland and Island malts are all represented, each with the distinctive flavours of their regional waters and distillery methods. You can move through the clean flavours of the East Coast Highland malts to the potent and peaty taste of the Islay malts, then there are the Islands - Lewis, Skye, and Orkney all with whiskies of their own.
Try a malt whisky as a perfect end to a good meal, or even as an aperitif. A good malt is often best enjoyed before the palate has been overwhelmed by many flavours of wine and good food. Add a little water if you like (no more than half as much again as your whisky measure) to release its full aroma and nose.
